What happened to Alphabar? It is undergoing a process of transformation into UP FOR STUFF - the coolest way to try doing new things and meet new people! We'll be having our kickoff event at the brand new i/o Ventures space at 19th and Valencia. (Check-in on foursquare @ i/o ventures.)
So what's planned for Friday night?
* We'll have DJ White Mike (
http://whitemike.com) spinning till 11 p.m. on a sound system donated by Avista Audio (
http://www.avistarentals.com/). Bring your dancing shoes!
* We'll have an activity room all about art as a play space. There will be supplies available for anyone to dabble without judgment. Our fabulous artist friend, Crystal, will give advice and answer questions as needed, or you can just come join her while she plays with paint.
* The Play Loft: a space full of nerf guns, hulu hoops, bubbles, a bouncy ball and some foam footballs.
* We'll have Brittany Berman leading improv and other activities guaranteed to help you embrace your inner child, play and have fun!
* Yury Lifshits will lead a few, short "Fun with Cameras" tutorials. Learn how to do cool things with video and photo cameras (Bring yours!), like livestreaming, interviews, making fun portraits etc. Ping Yury (

* We'll have AFAA Certified Personal Trainer Marcel Mendoza around to answer your fitness, health and wellness questions. You can get to know him a bit first here:

* We'll have lots of paper on the walls for you to write down your ideas for future Up for Stuff events and to volunteer to organize them!
* And we'll of course have some drinks (contributions welcome so we don't run out!) and super, awesome people (like you!) ready to mingle.
So, bring your cool ideas of things to do together (learning how to: blow glass, weld, play rugby, skeet shoot, juggle, paint, skydive, salsa dance, speak Russian, survive a triathalon, etc) and your cool friends along! Better yet, come with something cool that you can teach other people!
