So Earth Day is April 22nd. What Christmas or Easter really means to the jesus freaks is kinda like what Earth Day is to me. So Earth Day is April 22nd. What Christmas or Easter really means to the jesus freaks is kinda like what Earth Day is to me. A lot of people know about Earth Day, but probably don't really recognize (or celebrate) it. So of course the best way to get any information out now if through facebook, so there is now no excuse not to recognize Earth Day.
So I decided to make Earth Day a facebook event. That's what it takes for events to actually happen, right? It is an easy holiday; instead of something like christmas where you gotta buy gifts for everyone, Earth Day just has you do stuff to help conserve the world, be they large or little actions.
Hence the purpose of this. I think it would be awesome if everyone could do a little something for Earth Day. And it doesn't involved planting a tree, though you could do that if you like. Its all simple stuff.
-Walk or ride your bike to get someplace instead of driving your car, or if you must drive carpool with someone.
-Recycle instead of just throwing things out. Lots of things get thrown out that should be recycled, and in some places you can get paid for your recycling.
-Pick up garbage that's lying around on the ground and throw it out. Keep your world clean!
-Take re-usable bags to the grocery store (or any other store) so you don't have to use plastic ones. If you do get the plastic ones, save them and recycle them later.
-Turn off your lights when you leave and don't leave electrical appliances running when you're not using them. Hell if you wanna be ambitious change your lightbulbs to cfls.
-Go for a walk in nature somewhere and just appreciate the outdoors.
You don't have to do all of this. Even just recycling one bottle can make a difference. But I'd encourage everyone to do a little something for Earth Day! Its not like any of this is difficult to do, refusing is just pure ignorance. But the most important thing that you should all do is spread the word! INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO THIS!!!! Tell them to do something for Earth Day. Let's see how many people we can get involved on this. Its important!!
