The 8th Semi-Annual DEEP ArtWalk is Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 6-10 p.m. in Deep Ellum and Exposition Park.
Each spring and fall the Deep Ellum Enrichment Project (DEEP) sponsors this vibrant event to introduce the community to the vast array of talent and creativity in Deep Ellum. The galleries of Deep Ellum and Exposition Park will open their doors to the public for art viewing, shopping, live music, food, and drink.
The event is free and most people can easily walk from gallery to gallery. The DART Green Line is available to take patrons from the Deep Ellum and Baylor stations to Expo Park. The galleries feature paintings, photography, sculpture, pottery and performance art in styles ranging from classic to modern. The starting point for the walk is 2630 Commerce Street and maps can be obtained at any gallery on the walk the evening of the 17th.
Capping off the evening of art and fun is the official after party hosted by Nomad Arts and held at 2616 Commerce Street with over 10 artists, 5 bands and 2 DJ’s spinning until 2 a.m. A portion of the proceeds from the after party will be donated to the Edith Baker Art Scholarship fund through our partnership with Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA). The DADA Art Walk will also be held April 17 from 2-8 p.m.
