Attention all youth volunteers, youth coordinators and youth supporters: The National Youth Council is launching a new communication platform. Call time is 9pm Eastern Standard Time which means it will be at 8pm Central, 7pm Mountain and 6pm Pacific. The call will last about an hour followed by a questions and answers session.
What is the YouthChat?
The YouthChat is a nationwide discussion of topics that are on the top of the list for Red Cross youth volunteers. It is a combination conference call and web meeting which means that we can show presentations, take polls, and you can chat with youth from all over the country. In order to make the most of the YouthChat you should be in front of a computer with internet connectivity and be prepared to dial in on the conference call line.
What is happening during the first call?
Featured Speaker: Mat Morgan. Mat just returned back from a 6 week deployment to Haiti. He will be sharing exclusive photos and stories with us. We know most youth raised and donated funds for relief in Haiti and Mat is the man who will share exactly how those donations are being used to help those in dire need.
Featured Topic: Leadership Development Camps (LDC) is the topic that gained the most votes from youth in the field. We will provide a general overview of Leadership Development Camps, and have an in depth conversation about planning strategies, success stories and sample activities and ideas.
We are excited to make this happen and really hope as many youth as possible can join!
