The Standing on the Side of Love campaign will be welcoming Congress back to Washington D.C. with a show of love for them and for our neighbors. Our Representatives left D.C. after being spit upon, having bricks thrown through their windows, and confronted with homophobic and racist slurs. We will be carrying a drastically different message: “We Are Standing on the Side of Love.” During and prior to the recess, the values of love and compassion caused over 10,000 people to sign petitions for full equality for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and over 5,000 postcards supporting immigration reform in solidarity with the 200,000 who came to Washington on March 21st. We will be representing those 15,000 people by spelling out for Congress that "We are Standing on the Side of Love." We only need a few dozen people to come out and hold up that message so everyone can see.
