Texas Financial Transparency: Open and Online
FRI APRIL 23, 2010 AT BASS LECTURE HALL
FREE and Open to the Public
THE FORUM
“Texas Financial Transparency: Open and Online” brings together community members, government officials, students, interest groups and the media to discuss state finance and online transparency. The forum highlights best practices and makes recommendations to enhance the financial transparency of Texas State and Local Government. Sponsors are the LBJ School of Public Affairs, the LBJ School Center for Politics and Governance, and the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas.
POLICY RESEARCH PROJECT
The forum represents the culmination of a year of work in the State Finance and Online Transparency collaborative Policy Research Project (PRP). This class of graduate students from the LBJ School of Public Affairs encourages Texas government to shift from proprietary data formats and scattered information to open data standards and the “one-stop-shop” model of integrated financial information.
