This event was inspired by this guy, Reed Sandridge, who became unemployed and his mother passed away. In honor of her always generous and helping ways, he decided that, even though he is unemployed, there are many people out there who needs more help than he does. He decided to give US$10 to a stranger everyday and use that opportunity to get to know them better. You could read his blog at http://yearofgiving.wordpress.com/

Given this year's October 10 is 10/10/10, it seems like the perfect day to help pass on this idea of random acts of giving and learning their lives. So, on Oct 10, 2010, please give US$10 (or an appropriately equivalent amount in your local currency) to a random stranger, get to know a little bit about learn, find out what their plan is for the money and then share it on this page. Like Reed said for his effort, it's not about the money. It's about the simple act of giving and learning what kind of impact, however small it might be this giving have on another human being. Take photos, record a video or create anything else about your experience to share.
