THIS WEEKS GUEST IS D.R.K.! (DIRTY TECH)
A little bit about L.Boogie (resident DJ)
A small-town kid from Callalen, just outside coastal Corpus Christi, TX, L.Boogie (Lonnie Burnside) began making waves in the electronic music scene at the fresh age of 16. It was then that L.Boogie attended his first warehouse party, inspiring him to pick up his first set of turntables the very next week. The rave scene, however, was not his first tango with music. A musician since the age of 8, L.Boogie plays guitar, piano, saxophone and drums. He's been djing for over 10 years and producing for 5.
While living in Callalen, L.Boogie attended school for production and recording techniques, recording local jazz bands and occasionally accompanying them on various instruments. As L.Boogie djed, he gained recognition playing wherever he could, even trying to launch his own label titled "Elevator Music." L.Boogie's interests manifested into house and techno music, playing disco house, funk house, tech house, Chicago house, and deep house, most recently carrying the San Francisco vibe into the South with his deep tech-house beats.
Talented beyond his years, L.Boogie can serve up the most discriminating electronic aficionado the sweetest synths and 4-4 beats and has shared the stage with DJ Heather, Derrick Carter, Joey Youngman (Wolfgang Gartner), Inland Knights, Sun City Hustlers, DJ DIZ! Of Chicago, as well as Houston's own Jake Childs and Jakarta, Indonesia's Lucas Keizer, just to name a few. L.Boogie's booty-rockin' beats can currently be found on Groove Baby, Native Soul Records, Keizer's label Homesick Recordings, Singapore label Dustpan Recordings, as well as Shak Digital and Sixth Sense. His good-vibe grooves have been showcased in mixes by DJ Heather and Mark Farina, including Mark Farina's Stompy Chart in April of 2009. L.Boogie's latest to make the charts is "The Chicago EP," No. 4 on the March 2010 Inland Knights Top 10. Under the names L.Boogie and Nu Jaxx, his releases to date are as follows:
