Fellow Democrats,
I don’t typically like to publicize right-wing, extremist events going on in Austin but, I couldn’t resist letting you know Sarah Palin will be in Austin on Thursday, April 29th speaking for an anti-choice group.
Since last summer the TCDP has teamed up with Organizing for America, the AFL-CIO and Texans for Obama on a number of positive health care debates and rallies that featured guest speakers like our Congressman Doggett and other great activists for healthcare reform. At each of these rallies we have been faced with animosity and unruly protests that have gotten out of hand in many instances.
That is why we have decided instead of protesting Sarah Palin’s appearance in Austin; we will have our own event to bring together Democrats and activists for "An Evening Without Sarah Palin".

Congressman Doggett, Senator Watson and Sara Hickman, performing her song "Palin' By Comparison", will be featured guests at “An Evening Without Sarah Palin” at Serranos Symphony Square from 6:30-8:30pm on April 29th. We are asking for a suggested donation of $25, however we want to encourage all Democrats to join us on the 29th. All proceeds will go toward getting the vote out for pro-choice Democrats in 2010.

Join us on April 29th as we peacefully protest Sarah Palin’s arrival in Austin with great music and great Democratic speakers to remind us why we support everything Sarah Palin stands against.
