Coordinated by members of the Winchester and Frederick County Firefighters for the 78th year, the Firefighters’ Parade will step off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30th, in Old Town Winchester. (No Parade was held from 1942-1945).

Coordinated by members of the Winchester and Frederick County Firefighters for the 78th year, the Firefighters’ Parade will step off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30th, in Old Town Winchester. (No Parade was held from 1942-1945).
The first Torchlight and Mummer’s Parade in 1929 stepped off at 8 p.m. with each of the Winchester Fire Departments participating. Each Firefighter carried a flaming torch. From its humble beginning it is now the largest and one of the oldest annual Firefighters’ Parades in the World.
