Hey everybody...Here is an event you can attend without even leaving your house. This Saturday, May 8th, you can donate any unopened, non-perishable food item (no glass please) to a local food pantry by placing your donation at/in your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up when they deliver your mail this Saturday.
It's that simple! Your letter carrier will then take your donation back to the Post Office where volunteers will be waiting to sort the food and take it to the local pantry.
In larger communities in central and western Oklahoma, plastic bags will be delivered by letter carriers in the days prior to the food drive to make it easier for you to donate. Just fill the bag and hang it from your mailbox!
Last year was a record year in Oklahoma with more than 900,000 lbs of food donated...this year we hope to top 1,000,000 lbs and we need your help to get it done.
