Dog Adoption day is a free ‘meet-n-greet’ festival happening in Sydney

The public will get to know all the adoptable dogs and adoption agencies in Sydney in one place. The idea is to create a space where it is possible to have no dogs needing adopting in Sydney for a week.

Currently there are so many adoption agencies and organisations that are looking out for the well-being of homeless dogs.
Every Christmas time they get an influx of more dogs and this cycle continues with people buying 'new' dog that they can't look after and surrender. Every year- this same thing happens. But this year there is an opportunity to turn that around. Making it possible for people to feel so inspired to adopt a dog, rather than buying one.

Dog Adoption day will bring together all the adoption agencies and organisations and give them a voice. People will get a chance to meet the fantastic individuals behind all these organisations along with a few of their dogs.

The public will get to see the dogs outside of cages and see them in an everyday environment and help remove the stigma around ‘homeless’ dogs. As well as have a fantastic day out. They will also get to meet and greet these dogs in a non-threatening environment where they don’t feel pressured to ‘take one home’. They will get to interact with these dogs and realise how many need homes and get inspired to help.

At the end of the day- the main outcome is to inspire people to adopt a dog- making it possible to have no more dogs needing adoption in Sydney for a week.

But this event needs your help - It needs major sponsors to go ahead and as much help from the community as possible. So if you want to participate, help organise, put this on your blog or enewsletter, help spread the word, put me in contact with your contacts, please let me know!
