Haptic communication technology is evolving that detects force applied to a robot at a remote site and transmits this data to an operator.
At the same time, technology to control the robots via the Internet is moving ahead.

近年，遠隔地のロボットをインターネット経由で制御することだけでなく，ロボットが感じた力を操作者に返す Haptic Communication 技術が発達してきている．本発表では，日米間のインターネットを使った力覚遠隔制御実験について紹介する．
児童の国際交流を支える多言語コミュニケーションツール
高崎俊之 - CTO NPO法人パンゲア
NPOパンゲアで利用している児童国際交流用のWebcamシステムの紹介と、児童の国際交流を支えるボランティアコミュニティのための多言語コミュニティサイト（BBS)を紹介します。
両方のシステムともに、機械翻訳や辞書をサービス連携させるSOAPベースの言語基盤技術である言語グリッド(
http://www.langrid.org)を利用しています。
WebcamシステムはWebcamビデオ映像の下に機械翻訳テキストチャットがあり、プレゼンテーションでは児童の国際交流ゲームで効果的に利用している様子を紹介したいと思います。
多言語コミュニティサイトは、機械翻訳だけでなく、コミュニティメンバー(人間)が機械翻訳の誤訳を修正することができるUIを備えているので、プレゼンテーションでは機会翻訳と人間翻訳の仕組みについて、具体的な例を挙げて紹介したいと思います。
