On May 26, I begin a journey from Louisiana to Maine. It will take me to Springfield, Missouri, then to Ames, Iowa. I will travel further north to Minneapolis, then across to Chicago. Next stop is Columbus, Ohio, and then into Pittsburgh. I will hook down into North East, Maryland, and then across into New York City. From there I go to Boston, then up to Burlington, Vermont. Final stop is Montreal, before finally arriving at my intended destination of Rockport, Maine on June 9, to begin teaching workshops at the Maine Media Workshops.
At every stop, I will hit the ground running. My goal is to create one, two or three constructed photographs in each city with local actors and models from the region. I have a journal full of stories and themes, and am currently mapping out which actors will fit each idea the best. Locations are being secured remotely ahead of time. By the time my travel begins, all I'll need to configure is which exit ramp to take in each city.
I'm inviting everyone to follow along with the trip via my website. I will have a blog dedicated to this journey as I travel. It goes live May 25 as the new front page for my site and will contain stories, thoughts, production photos, even travel videos will be going up on it. Once the trip is finished and the images have been produced, they will also begin to appear on the website.
Also, I am currently seeking financial backers for this trip. The base funding needed to make this idea a reality has been achieved, but additional funds are being sought to help cover travel expenses. I'm trying to reach a $1,500 total before I depart. Anyone interested in donating can visit my website and click the Paypal link at the top of the page.

Backers have options to receive a wide variety of items in return, from postcards, to prints and props. More information is available at the above link.
It all begins May 26. Be sure to check my website each day for travel and production updates!
I'm also interested in hearing any tips you guys might have for me at any of these locations. Favorite spots to eat? Interesting local attractions to swing by while passing through? Do you live in one of these cities? What's your favorite "non-tourist" spot? This is a fun project. Let me hear your travel tips!
