You're a part of the largest Alumni Association in the world, yet, how do you use that to your advantage? Whether it is meeting new people in a place you have lived for years or seeking out others with similar interests to yourself in a new city to making a business connection that assists you in meeting your career objectives...it's nerve-racking. Cheryl Bonner from Penn State Career Services is traveling to Atlanta to help YOU "break the ice" in networking.

Join us for the Nittany Networking event "MAKING YOUR PENN STATE FAMILY WORK FOR YOU" presented by Cheryl Bonner, Director of Penn State's Alumni Career Services sponsored by Penn State Atlanta and Penn State Alumni Career Services.

SYNOPSIS:
Cheryl will be providing attendees with time tested networking strategies to help you interact more effectively with fellow alums as well as your daily contacts. During the session, there will be three (3) exercises to help you "break the ice", determine what you have to offer a fellow networker, and what you are looking for in terms of networking objectives. Also, she will be giving out prizes!!!

RESUME CRITIQUING:
Cheryl will be providing resume critiquing to any member who submits their resume via email to Rich at networking@psuatlanta.com by 2/18/10. Your resume will be handed out at the event and Cheryl will be scheduling follow-up calls the week after her visit.

VENUE INFORMATION:
Our event will take place at the NEW Hudson Grille Midtown (former Sweet Lowdown location) on Peachtree and 9th. Food is included with the price of admission with one (1) drink ticket for draft beer or house wine. Cash bar will be available. Valet is provided.

SPEAKER:
Cheryl Bonner has more than 20 years experience as a career program director and counselor, working in various higher education settings including private and public universities and community colleges. She serves as the Director of Alumni Career Services at Penn State, where she provides counseling services that meet the career and life management needs of alumni. She also designs and facilitates networking opportunities for alumni and students. She has developed career- and work-related courses that have been taught in both the traditional classroom setting and through distance learning. Cheryl is the co-author of the career development textbook, "Your Career Planner."
