The San Francisco Opera Guild and Opera Association are pleased to announce Opera Ball 2010. Our Gala Celebration will commence the 88th season of San Francisco Opera with the pageantry and passion of forbidden love in Ancient Egypt. Join us as the grandest of grand operas, Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida, returns to San Francisco in a brand new production on Friday, September 10, 2010.
Opera Ball 2010 will begin in San Francisco’s historic City Hall at 5:00 pm with an exclusive cocktail reception followed by a lavish dinner at 6:00 pm. The curtain will rise at 8:00 pm for the Opening Night performance of Verdi’s Aida. After the performance, you and your guests return to the stunning ambiance of City Hall for the Gala Celebration.
Each year, Opera Ball proceeds make it possible to provide award-winning educational programs to approximately 60,000 children and adults. Through these programs, we introduce young people to the arts on a personal level and provide them with the opportunity to attend a live opera performance. Through our various outreach efforts, they learn to appreciate and grow to love the splendor of the arts and the wonders of opera.
