June 17th: It's St Botolph's Day! And Boston is St Botolph's Town! So, my friendlies, it is time to drink. And what would you drink but St Botolph's Town, a rustic, dark ale made just for this exact purpose! What a marvellous coincidence!
This is our "2ND ANNUAL SAINT BOTOLPH'S DAY PUB CRAWL" and it coincides with the first-ever BOSTON BEER WEEK.
Saint Botolph, a Saxon saint of travelers whose feast day is celebrated on June 17th, lent his name to the original "Boston" in Lincolnshire (our fair city's namesake).
In celebration of this holiday we shall travel from bar to pub and back to bar again, occasionally imbibing Pretty Things' Saint Botolph's Town, a beer that celebrates our great city in addition to its ancient Saxon patron. Join Dann, Martha and Jim of Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project, and a few special guests for a great afternoon!
We encourage the wearing of blue: St Botolph's shield-colour.
The event is free although the beer is obviously not and "travel" in this instance refers to walking for most of the event (though folks can break away and catch a T or cab). The last leg from The Other Side Cafe to American Craft is a T ride for sure. We'll arrive at American Craft just in time for the Pre-Party for the AMERICAN CRAFT BEER FEST.
