More social networks encourage users to share their whereabouts using any of a number of new location-based services. While sites like Foursquare, Gowalla and others can be fun and interesting, Shea will explain, first hand, why people should be cautious about publicly announcing their whereabouts.
Also, Chris Kovac will give a brief presentation to announce the kick off of this year’s United Way of Greater Kansas City awareness + membership + fundraising campaign, Live United. UWGKC and Chris have tapped members of SMCKC to create, define and execute a comprehensive social media campaign unlike anything the United Way has done to date.
As usual, you can attend the monthly breakfast meeting on September 10 at the Kansas City Cafe on Grand Street. Doors open at 7:30 for breakfast, which ranges from $5-$10. Brief announcements and presentations will begin at 8:00. The Kansas City Café can seat 90 people, so sign up early.
