[read more] You are cordially invited to San Francisco Tennis Club's Island Party! It will be an evening of tennis, food and drink, dancing, and more! This event will be held after-hours at the Club.
Besides the great fun to be had, this event will also benefit Teach With Africa, a non-profit organization founded by long-time Club members Marjorie and Larry Schlenoff. Teach with Africa works to break down the economic and social barriers to education in Africa by sending teams of educators to implement projects in under-served communities through an exchange of teaching and learning. Not only that, but those same educators then return the the U.S., taking what they learned in South Africa to help schools here at home.
You may remember when some of the kids from South Africa visited the Club, had a tennis lesson with Matthew, followed by lunch, and treated those of us lucky enough to be here to some beautiful singing. Our Island Party will directly benefit this great organization!
The Island tennis party is open to players with a USTA rating of 3.0 to 5.0. If you would like to attend but don't necessarily want to play tennis, you are more than welcome! Members and guests are invited- players and non-players! For every person who attends, Teach With Africa will be the beneficiary- so invite your friends to come out and play, (or not play), eat dinner, dance, and have a great time!
The tennis will consist of a doubles round-robin, and prizes will be awarded for the winners of each flight. Dinner is a Caribbean theme, complete with complimentary rum punch! There will also be an open bar available.

8:00 pm - 10:00 pm: Dinner, dancing, silent auction, and more!
Cost:
$55/player for members or guests
$30/person non-playing for members or guests
($20/$10 respectively, of every entry fee will go directly to Teach With Africa)
