This is the first of hopefully many to come. This tournament is to Benefit the Jackson Relay for Life Team Zebra. Team Zebra is lead by Cindy Danks who is battling neuroendocrine tumors or islet cell carcinoma. The specific type of neuroendocrine tumor is called a glucagonoma which is very rare. In fact U of M says that only one in every five million people are affected and the survival rate is five years. Team Zebra is about walking for a cure for all cancers. The name comes from the medical profession where Doctors are told to listen for horse hoof beats not Zebra hoof beats. Meaning find the most general thing it could be instead of spending hours of time trying to find the little thing. Because of this many people are misdiagnosed. So Back to Frisbee. There will be trophies awarded to the winning team. Each team will field 7 people with 5 subs. Cost per team is $120 (that is $10 per person on the team). Checks may be made payable to American Cancer Society and on the Memo line please put Jackson Relay. Please leave me the best way to contact your team leader with the rules of play for this tournament and where to send checks. Rules will only really be changed for the size of a soccer field rather than UPA regulation size. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask. AND PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO AS MANY ULTIMATE PLAYERS THAT YOU KNOW!!!
