FOUND MAGAZINE'S SUMMIT FEVER PARTY
A Going-Away Frenzy for Jess Devereaux and Margaret Box and Benefit for Washington II Washington!!
Yo yo yo -- come join Found Magazine's Davy Rothbart and friends for a mid-summer's night bash, celebrating our dear friends Jess and Margaret on the eve of their departures to Chicago and Dallas. Ann Arbor's own DJ Pauze, Dick Jones, and Charles Trees will be on the ones and twos, and the Elks' finest behind the bar, so expect a raging dance floor, strong drinks, and general Vinsanity.
Some more things for you to know about this night:
It's a Rubik's Cube-themed party. This means that guests are encouraged to wear various items of clothes bearing the colors of a Rubik's Cube (red, white, yellow, green, blue, orange). Those who manage to swap clothes until they're dressed entirely in one color will win free drinks and other dope prizes. Consider wearing clothes that you don't mind saying goodbye to, or write your name with Sharpie on the inside of any item that you want to make sure you get back. Even if you choose not to go all Rubik's Cube style, you're still welcome into the club, but those who rock the Rubik's game will be rewarded with prizes and the most fun. Please remember to respect the Elks' 'No Hats' rule -- this means you'll have to be creative with your outfit; we predict the fashionable rocking of gloves, bandanas tied tightly to biceps, leg-warmers, Mardi Gras beads, capes, and bras worn over shirts.
This party is also a benefit for Washington II Washington, a locally-organized outdoor adventure bringing kids from Ypsi, Ann Arbor, and Washington, D.C. to New Hampshire for a hike to the top of Mt. Washington. Here's how it works -- when you arrive at Elks and pay $5 to get in, you'll receive two raffle tickets, which may win you awesome prizes, like meals at Zingerman's and Kosmo Deli, movie tickets to the Michigan Theater, a free haircut at Coach N' Four, or even a free hour-long massage at Bodywise, plus other prizes from Found Magazine, Dirty Found, This American Life, Vault of Midnight, and many more. We'll have drawings every hour (10 p.m., 11, midnight, 1 a.m., and 2.) If you want to further support Washington II Washington, you can purchase extra raffle tickets, 2 for $5, or 3 for $10. If you're just coming to party and don't want a shot at any fabulous prizes, you can pay the reduced entry fee of $3. Donate a sleeping bag, air mattress, tent, or working flashlight at the door and get in FREE! For lots more details about Washington II Washington, peep this link:
