From the living room of Albert Hofmann in Switzerland, to ayahuasca ceremonies in the Amazon; from John Hopkins University Medical School to NYU's brain research lab - join us on this compelling investigation into the effect of psychedelic (Greek for ‘mind manifest') medicine on the human mind. The research of the 1950's & 1960's is being eclipsed by 21st century science. Breakthroughs in neuroscience have created a boom in brain research as new technology is available to study with fMRI's, PET scans, & biofeedback equipment. As neuroscience gives new understanding to the relationship between brain chemistry, electrical activity and mental function-the experimental quest for consciousness is informed by diligent scientific research.
