after successfully rallying 70 of my friends last year to go to the Cubs/Giants game, and then 50 to go to the Wallpaper show later that day, i wasn't sure where i was even going to begin planning this...

after successfully rallying 70 of my friends last year to go to the Cubs/Giants game, and then 50 to go to the Wallpaper show later that day, i wasn't sure where i was even going to begin planning this year's festivities.
and then it hit me. DUH. 2010 is the year of the bon fire (declared by...me), what BETTER way to celebrate my birth than do what we all love best: drink outside, sing acoustic karaoke, play with fire, get smelly like campfires, and remember that we live ON THE OCEAN!!
besides all of that, the two bonfires i've planned this year were each such a MASS success that i thought i'd repeat it, and MAKE IT TEN TIMES BETTER!
why is this going to be the best yet?
a) it's a saturday. no rushing home from work and figuring out how to get across the city for the sunset. you can get up, do your chores, and then mosey on down to the beach with your BBQ goods and beer and laughs.
b) since it's saturday we can start earlier and enjoy the day AND night on the beach. it seems like there's never enough time before the popos get poopy at night and we have to leave. since it's september it's also SUMMER which means that even if it's not 95 degrees like last year on my birthday, it'll still be BEAUtiful. so let's enjoy it.
c) the venue is infinite in space- invite anyone you want!!
so, does this sound like your ideal september saturday... or what!? it's like camping without having to leave the city!
i figure we'll bbq, and drink, and sing... and play music? then when the sun goes down we'll start a fire and continue till we can't continue anymore.
when we get closer, i'll send out all the fun lessons learned from the last two so we can stay safe and happy and out of jail for the day.
