Some of us drive by it everyday. It's a nondescript building that you'd never know was a crumbling Vaudeville stage theatre in need of repair. Imagine the ornamentation of the Alabama Theatre, but after neglect for years. The Alabama Theatre's little sister -- more intimate, but still full of glory.
Glenny Brock from the Alabama Theatre (@glennybrock on Twitter) has agreed to give a personal tour of the Lyric to the Birmingham Lunch Bunch. Stand on the stage where the Marx Brothers, Mae West and Milton Berle stood. See the office area above the Lyric (which you won't get to see if you go to the Lyric during Sidewalk).
The Lyric needs our help and our voice. BRING YOUR CAMERAS! You are likely to see some amazing things here. Let's learn a little and help tell the story of a Birmingham landmark that needs to shine again.
After the tour, we can walk to Brick and Tin, Brannon's, Lyric Hot Dog, Centrale, etc or you can return back to work.
