Dan Savage just launched an awesome new project to support LGBTQ youth who feel helpless and alone in small isolated towns. Dan Savage just launched an awesome new project to support LGBTQ youth who feel helpless and alone in small isolated towns. It's called "It Gets Better," and Dan wants us to create video messages to remind those kids that things may be tough now, but they shouldn't give up hope, and that life as an LGBTQ adult is great.
So we're going to record a big crowd message this Sunday at 1pm at the Castro Plaza! All you have to do is show up, and bring your family and friends. If you're shy, you can just stand in the crowd and wave. And if you're brave, you can deliver a line to the camera, and even tell your own story about how you overcame tough times.
Check out the project here:

And check out the script -- which is still a work in progress -- here:

If you have any suggestions for the script, please do get in touch with your ideas.
And we'll see you Sunday!
(UPDATE: Pushing it up from noon to 1pm to give folks time to make it over from the Equality Walk across Golden Gate Bridge! We'll be recording at that event, too. It goes from 9am to noon.)
