Jim Fairchild spent most of his career as the guitarist of the seminal indie rock group Grandaddy. Since their dissolution a few years ago, he has been touring with Modest Mouse, slaying hooks on hits like "Float On" for tens of thousands of people night in, night out. Now he's coming to Eventbrite to play a special solo performance of music from his other band, All Smiles. All Smiles began as a channel for Jim's creative energies immediately following Grandaddy's demise. The music is decidedly more positive than Grandaddy's, and several other indie-famous musicians have contributed to the recordings and live shows. Joe Plummer (drummer for The Shins and Modest Mouse) is the most consistent contributor, but others include members of Broken Bells, 30 Seconds To Mars, Sleater-Kinney, Great Northern, Earlimart, and Menomena. To build momentum for a late fall release of a new record, All Smiles has given away their latest record, Oh For The Getting And Not Letting Go, while Modest Mouse has been on tour all summer.
