Come be a part of a unique photographic experience with some of the brightest start-ups in NYC:
• The James Douglas Studio

The James Douglas Studio has been collectively working with the other sponsors of this event on a project regarding the influences of social mediums on today’s businesses, and we would like to invite you to participate! Below is the synopsis for The Telephone Project:
Synopsis: Use video and still imagery to document conversations between people speaking candidly about the topic below. Once a conversation between two people has been recorded, one of the two will share their perspective with a new individual, thus continuing the chain until the last person in the group shares their perspective to the originator of the conversation. i.e. The popular children’s game of “Telephone.”
Topic: Over the last decade, the concept of an international social platform for people to connect and share ideas has rapidly evolved. From MySpace to Facebook, and from Flickr to Twitter, these social mediums have segwayed into more than just overzealous chat rooms; they have become a mainstay in the marketing and development of businesses, both large and small. These sites (evolving social networks) provide a means for businesses to capture the attention of millions of viewers from around the world with a single image, video, or blog. As the use of these social mediums continues to grow, how can they be used to benefit the future success of your industry?
Print: Each conversation, depending on the length, will be transcribed after the fact, creating most of the body of each article to be pitched to magazines such as Time, The New Yorker, etc.
The Event: So, overall we want to record conversations between all of you that others, especially your followers, would want to read, connecting you to someone else and their fellowship. You will be speaking about how the “social network” may affect your industry and readership. To help us move forward with this project, we would like to invite you all to a social networking cocktail hour at The James Douglas Studio. Drinks and appetizers will be provided. During the course of the evening, you will be paired with two other individuals to be photographed and to discuss the impact of social mediums on your businesses. We hope this will be a fun evening and a great way for us all to learn a little bit more about how we can use social networks to advance our businesses from one another.
Please RSVP by Monday, October 4.
