Zooey Deschanel and Matt Ward may strike you as a musical match made in heaven, but this pair was not always inevitable. Better known for her acting, Deshanel always had a passion for music, yet she rarely found confidence in sharing it—that is until she met guitarist and producer Ward. The two had collaborated on a cover song for the indie film, The Go-Getter, and when Deschanel felt an instant musical connection with Ward, she knew they needed to hit the studio together. This is where they produced their first album entitled Volume One, the perfect predecessor for Volume Two which was released earlier this year. Now with her name lit up on the marquee for both film and music, Deschanel can sing her duel-faceted success loud and proud.
