Freelance Camp Des Moines 2010.
Be In
Business For Yourself. Not By Yourself
Freelance
“unconference“ hits Des Moines.
The 9-5 grind is gone. How we
work, who we work for, and when we do it are more flexible, but also more
technologically complicated.
Freelance
Camp Des Moines 2010, an all-day event for free agents, will be held on
October 23rd at Foundry
Coworking 1312 Locust Street
Downtown Des Moines to discuss and explore new business ideas,
approaches and solutions for running successful freelance companies.
Our mission is simple… help
independent consulting professionals be in business for themselves, not by
themselves. But the format is
unconventional...invite free-thinking, independent professionals to share and
draw on the expertise of the group to find answers to today’s business
challenges through an unconference.
Unconference formats, called
“bar camp style” allow users to generate and participate in the content. It is
organic dialog and is perfect for young independent professionals who are
accustomed to conversational and collaborative problem solving.
Freelance Camp Des Moines is
organized for the benefit of the local freelancing community and this event
specifically focuses on those freelancers who are interested in or deal
directly with technology. Vital to how we go to business, technology plays a
dominating role in how business is run. From social media, to web development
and project management to new business applications, technology is central to
business operations and successes today.
The day’s events include:
·
Four bar camp sessions
·
Breakfast, a working
lunch and an after party
·
Local business successes
such as Nathan Wright, Andrew Clark, Dwolla and more as panelists.
A pre-networking event will
be held for anyone interested on Friday, October 22 at Mullets, 1300 SE 1st
St., Des Moines from 6 to 9 pm.
