Speaker: Mr. Jerry Suppan
Our longtime member and presenter, Mr. Jerry Suppan (aka Mr. January), recently visited the annual consumer electronics show (CEATEC 2010) in Kaihin Makuhari in mid-October. CEATEC (Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies) is regarded as the Japanese equivalent of the International Consumer Electronics Show held every January in Las Vegas. It is Japan's largest IT and electronics exhibition and conference.
At our Nov. 11 meeting, Jerry has offered to present a short overview of his findings at the show and advancements in categories of consumer-oriented technology such as: TV technology, cameras, storage, Wimax2, smartphones, and tablets (slates/pads).
Jerry Suppan was born in Chicago, Illinois & is a Vietnam Vet. He has a degree in Japanese language studies from the University of Hawaii, came to Japan in 1982, and is now a permanent resident.
Jerry has a diverse business background, having worked in Windows network support, translation services, and consumer electronic sales. Presently he freelances in entrepreneurship and investments....activities which involve education, talent productions, online selling, and offshore FX trade investments.
