Twitter-Based Wine Event Provides Access to Three of Four Seasons
Top Sommeliers Sharing Pairings for the Upcoming Holidays
WHAT:
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will host its first-ever, virtual wine event. Three award-winning Four Seasons sommeliers will lead participants in a virtual, one-hour guided tasting of three distinct wines – Loosen Bros. Dr. L Riesling, Paraiso Syrah and Chappellet Mountain Cuvee – all via twitter. Discussion will address the unique flavour profiles of each and how to pair them with seasonal dishes; tips for weaving the wines into a Thanksgiving holiday menu will also be shared.
BOURBON STEAK invites guests to enjoy these wines at the restaurant, specially priced at $8 per glass on the night of the tweet-up.
WHEN:
On #WineWednesday, November 17, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
HOW:
Join the discussion online:
- Log-on to Twitter from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 17, 2010 and search for the hashtag #FSWine.
- Ensure your comments and questions are woven into the conversation by including the #FSWine hashtag with each tweet.
Join the discussion in person:
- BOURBON STEAK Head Sommelier Julian Mayor will participate on Twitter (@BOURBONSTEAKDC) as well as in person, discussing each wine with participants present in the lounge as well as ones enjoying the tweet-up from the comforts of their own homes.
WHY:
To tap into a wealth of wine knowledge from BOURBON STEAK’s Julian Mayor, as well as three Four Seasons sommeliers with more than 25 years of combined experience: James Tidwell, Co-Founder and Current Head of the Texas Sommelier Association; Mark Sayre, one of Wine & Spirits magazine’s “7 Best New Sommeliers of 2010”; and Dana Farner, recognized as “one of the best around” by Bon Appétit magazine, will lead participants in a virtual guided tasting of three distinct wines.
