The Art of Friendship
Route 66 Modern Classics along with Best Buddies International is bringing you a night of Art and Friendship. Saturday March 26th, 2011 5:00pm-9:00pm
We would like to extend an open invitation to local area artists to participate in this one night only charity event.
Artist will be asked to create their own interpretive images of friendship honoring Best Buddies. Best Buddies (www.bestbuddies.org) is a global volunteer movement started in 1989 by Anthony Shriver. Best Buddies creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual disabilities (IDD).
All mediums of art pertaining to the theme of friendship are welcome, paint on canvas, photography, metal, wood sculpture, urban graffiti etc. Created pieces will be exhibited on the evening of the event (Saturday, March 26th), and sold with the proceeds going to Best Buddies Charity.
Best Buddies is the worlds largest non-profit organization, they're work positively impacts the lives of 700,000 participants with and without IDD, as well as their respective network of family, friends, and employers.
Additionally, Route 66 will be donating two Genuine Buddy Scooters, which will be custom painted by two local area artists (to be selected), the completed scooters will be auctioned off the night of the event with the proceeds going to Best Buddies Charity.
This is an awesome opportunity for local area artists to show their work for a great cause. There will be abundant local media coverage leading up to and on the night of the event.
There will be a variety of celebrity artists (to be announced) participating in this charity event as well.
Artists, please contact Glenn Bartels with your interest.
Sincerely,
Glenn Alan Bartels
President
