ABOUT SFCASA:

There are currently 1300 children in foster care in San Francisco, many with no hope of returning to their family of origin. These children and youth need someone special in their lives to be a friend, to be a mentor, to be a voice for them in the over stressed arena of the family welfare system.

San Francisco Court Appointed Special Advocates (SFCASA) is a community based nonprofit organization that trains volunteers from the community to mentor and advocate for these children in the San Francisco foster care system. As the holidays approach SFCASA holds a gift drive for the children and youth in their program. For the 0-12 year olds, the usual gifts that children like are appropriate. For the older children (14-18), of which half their program consists, they request gift cards to stores kids like (Target, GAP, H&M, Borders, even Safeway as during school holidays these children loose the school lunch program).
