This is it. Sometime between 7PM and 8PM Tokyo time on Monday 11/29, we'll be hitting the 100,000 book milestone since starting Beers for Books in February 2009.

A huge THANK YOU to all of you who have led and supported by organizing events, attending events, telling others about B4B, joining the Facebook group, etc. Your support is very much appreciated.

It has been a blast watching this simple and fun idea take off and spread around the world. It all started with the idea "Wouldn't it be cool if I could go out and have a beer with friends and a kid would get a book via Room to Read from a $1 donation from the bar?"

Turns out, that idea works--and it is a win/win/win for the bar, people who like to have fun, and the millions of children served by Room to Read in Africa & Asia.

We've had events in 6 countries so far and we've only just begun. There is so much more that can be done with the B4B concept and we believe that the celebration of 1 million books is not far off. Really.

If you're in Tokyo and would like to join in the 100K celebration (and get in a commemorative photo) come on by the Nakameguro Taproom between 7-8PM. The Baird Brewing Co. has been a great supporter of B4B and its fitting that we'll be hitting 100K there.

Stay tuned for more fun stuff coming up, but in the meantime, let's celebrate this small milestone with a hardy Cheers/Kampai/Salud/etc.!
