Hi All,
I'd like to invite you to a charity event I'm holding at the Kimono Wine Bar on Thursday, December 2nd. The event is called Bottles for Books, and it's a part of the Beers for Books program that raises money for Room to Read, an international program that delivers schools, libraries, and original local language books to underprivileged kids in SE Asia, central Asia, and Africa.
It's very easy, this is how it works...there's no cover charge, minimum or mandatory donation. All you need to do is show up and have a few drinks. The bar has agreed to donate 100yen for every drink that you buy and that 100yen creates one local language book through Room to Read. 1 drink = 1 book. Finally, a reason to feel good about having a few glasses of wine on a Thursday night!
Universal literacy begins with a book in the hands of every child.
My apologies for the late notice, but Kimono Wine Bar is just down the street from Midtown (just past Nogizaka Station), so I'd love to see you all even if it's just to pop in for a quick drink on your way home from work, or on your way out to dinner. Please let me know if you think you can make it so I can get an idea of numbers. Of course, please invite all your friends, as well.
