We weren’t going to do a Candlelight Club event in December but everyone had so much fun at the last two we decided we couldn’t resist squeezing in a Christmas Special to help you see the old year out with a bang.
The Candlelight Club is a pop-up cocktail bar with a 1920s speakeasy theme, in a secret tucked-away den lit entirely by candles. Tickets for our "Christmas by Candlelight" party are very limited in number and priced at just £15. For this you get:
• A free cocktail on arrival
• A quirky supper of exotic, Christmas-flavoured sandwiches, in our basement hideaway specially decorated for the occasion—including a proper six-foot Norwegian spruce tree!
• Live 1920s jazz from Albert Ball's Flying Aces (see below)
• Vintage shellac spun all evening by MC Fruity, London's premier vintage DJ
• A one-off menu of attractively priced Christmas cocktails.
• Our Christmas present for you to take home: a free limited-edition CD of Candlelight Club 1920s music, cleverly fashioned to look just like an old 78 record—this album will only be available at this event—PLUS a mini bottle of SW4 gin, "The Gin of Champions".
In effect, it's a pocket-sized version of the Club, to keep you company this Christmas.
Dress: 1920s dandies and gangsters, degenerate aristos, decadent aesthetes, corrupt politicians and the Smart Set In the Know

ALBERT BALL'S FYING ACES was originally formed in 1916 by the aviators of 266 Squadron RFC to relieve the horror of their daily dog-fights above the trenches. After the 1918 Armistice they stayed together, performing a repertoire of French, German, American and British jazz, music that epitomises the spirit of that lost generation, jaunty and upbeat in the face of adversity. Driven by their wartime experiences, their mission is to bring peace and understanding to the modern world—a particularly apt message at this time of year.
