Next Net Tuesday, January 4 at 6:00 PM, come join local community media experts to discuss how nonprofits can make and distribute their own videos, audio, and photography. Specifically, presenters will demonstrate how this media can be used with social networking technology to further organizational goals. Participants will have a chance to see examples of media created by nonprofits and other community groups and have the opportunity to ask the experts questions about creating community media content for their own causes. Presenters from organizations includng Philly Community Access Media (
http://phillycam.org) and WHYY’s Public Media Commons (
http://www.whyy.org/hamiltoncommons/index.html) and new Newsworks journalism portal (
http://www.newsworks.org) will also showcase a list of community media resources available to non-profits in the area.
This event will provide really great information to participants on community media opportunities in the Philadelphia area. Persons who can really benefit from this meetup are those who would like to add media content to their websites, blogs, and/or social media programs, and anybody who wants to better understand these evolving technologies.
