Note: an RSVP at Plancast will not get you in the door. You must RSVP at EventBrite. Don't forget to RSVP for the Refresh Austin party across the street as well. Update #2 Woot! The WordPress Foundation has joined us as a co-host for the party. Update #1 I just spoke with Tony Cecala of the DFW WordPress Meetup, and they will be joining us as co-hosts for the party. 900+ members strong, the DFW WP Meetup is pretty much the largest WordPress group in the country -- and just a few hours up the road. We look forward to welcoming all to Austin for SXSW and the WordPress Party. Austin is a WordPress town The Austin WordPress community is growing daily. The monthly meetings recently moved to Cospace to support the larger crowd, and are already filling the new venue. WordCamp Austin sold out in a matter of days. Jason and Aaron just launched WP Engine which, in my opinion, will soon be a leader in WordPress hosting. Is Austin a WordPress town? YES! Let's get together at SXSW Pat Ramsey, of the Austin WordPress Meetup, and I agreed that SXSW Interactive 2011 would be the perfect place to host another party. I then contacted Jason and Aaron at WP Engine, and they said: Count us in! We picked a date and I contacted John Wickham to reserve Elysium for the event. When you combine Austin's WordPress community with all the WordPress users coming to Austin for SXSW, you'll need a big venue. Elysium is 3 blocks from the convention center, has a great stage and sound system, and can hold hundreds. No matter where we hold the event, it will likely sell out. RSVP now? Yes, it's a good idea. See you there! Note: when registering, please list your WordPress site!
Linda Sherman Gordon Yay for Wordpress. I participate in an extraordinary Wordpress Tweetup in Orange County and look forward to seeing what you guys are doing in Austin. Hope the party format will also allow the exchange of information.
