BlockCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn about using software to improve their neighborhood. It is an intense, regularly recurring event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants who are the main actors of the event. The goal is to develop, deploy and use software systems that raise awareness, track and manage issues around the safety and economics activity of blighted or vacant corridors to support the mission of creating "Complete Streets". A central BlockCamp mission is to research civic software success stories in other cities and package those systems as ready-to-use recipes for other urban venues.
