The Tutorpedia Foundation Fundraiser is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in San Francisco. Our 2nd Annual Fundraiser will feature a panel conversation focusing on the most effective ways to personalize education for our students. Panelists include:
•Vicki Abeles: director of Race to Nowhere (www.racetonowhere.com), a critically acclaimed documentary on the darkside of America's achievement culture
•Dennis Littky: co-founder and co-director of Big Picture Learning (www.bigpicture.org), a nonprofit network of 80 small charter schools across the country that focuses on personalized learning and internships
•Farb Nivi: founder of Grockit (www.grockit.com), an online test-prep company that offers peer tutoring, professional tutoring, and collaborative games with students studying for the SAT and ACT
The evening’s agenda:
6:00 - 6:30 pm Arrive
6:30 - 7:30 pm Panel Conversation + Audience Q&A
7:30 - 9:00 pm Auction & Raffle
The event will provide hors d'oeuvres and no-host bar. Admission is $35, which is the cost of providing one hour of free one-on-one tutoring by the Foundation. VIP tickets are $50, which includes admission plus 2 raffle tickets. Teacher tickets are $20, and students (21+) get in free. All money raised at the event provides free tutoring for low-income students in the Bay Area. Visit
