Alas, this event is a fundraiser for the project WORK+SHELTER, by the Lotus Odyssey. Description via website "It is an organization that exports fair-trade products from different eco/people-friendly groups in India. The products are sold under the name, The Lotus Odyssey in small boutiques. Now, with my team, I want to start a foundation that offers women in a New Delhi slum a new start. For many families poverty, violence, and other hardships means that lives are short and filled with suffering. That's where WORK+SHELTER comes in. Everyone deserves decent living conditions and the chance to build a better future. WORK+SHELTER will be a safe space where women can come with their children, to live and work. We'll provide training, materials, a fair-wage, and medical and education funds for them. Your donation will go towards purchasing much needed items like beds, kitchen utensils, and desert coolers for the wicked summer heat."
