When was the last time you showed others what you are working on? Usability testing is seldom carried out at appropriate times through the lifecycle of a project. Everyone agrees resulting tests add value and identify problems, but nobody finds the time to perform the tests! Usually a test might have three customers identify problems, imagine the feedback you might get by putting your ideas in front of 100 other web developers who have been in similar scenarios to yourself.
This month we combine with another meetup group "Web Developers and Entrepreneurs" - and we will hear six lucky people pitch their development visions, aspirations, and needs to the audience. Anyone can apply, so send us an email!
Two of the entrepreneurs will then have the opportunity to have their prototype usability tested, with feedback given from the audience. Nathan O'Hanlon, CTO at SocialGO.com will take us through the process of monthly usability testing as performed at SocialGO.com, following from the guidelines outlined in "Rocket Surgery Made Easy" by Steve Krug, the author of "Don't make me think".
