BRIEF DESCRIPTION
China, land of legends, architectural wonders, and diverse landscapes, is a country with one of the world’s oldest civilizations. Over the centuries, it has produced cultural masterpieces that have fascinated the rest of the world. Today, monumental social and economic transformations are underway with new prosperity in the cities of Shanghai and Beijing. China is dynamic. In contrast, the tranquility of the mountainous landscape of Tibet, the drama and magnificence of the terra cotta army in Xian, and the unique beauty of the peaks and grottos of Guilin have not changed.
The tour begins in Beijing with visits to the Forbidden City, home to numerous emperors, and the Great Wall, built in 600 B.C. Continue to Xian, a city that once vied with Rome and Constantinople for the title of greatest city in the world. The discovery of more than 6,000 life-size figures of warriors and their horses is expanded daily. Visit serenely beautiful Guilin, and encounter the endangered Giant Panda in Chengdu. Spend three nights in Tibet and see unforgettable sites such as the immense, thousand-room Potala.
