In "Back to the Future II", Doc Brown and Marty McFly travel to a date far in the distant future, where there are flying cars and crazy fashions, Jaws 19 and thumbprint door locks, Mr. Fusion reactors and hoverboards. At least, that date was far in the future in 1989. Now that date, October 21 2015, is in the near future, only four years from now. We'd better get cracking if we want them to recognize this world at all!
So hurry! Make fifteen more Jaws sequels! Engineer a fusion reactor that runs on garbage and fits in the back of a DeLorean! Make a flying car! Figure out self-tying shoes, for gosh-sakes! We've gotta get the world up to where it is in the movie in time!
The very least you can do is dress like they do when the date rolls around. Neon colors, shiny opaque goggles, and a clear necktie. That's what's mandatory for participation in the event. A retro-futuristic world for a day.
