With Mira Schor’s essay “On Failure and Anonymity” as inspiration, Dalton and Powhida encourage gallery visitors to participate in an interview/discussion/brainstorming session in a sequestered area in the gallery to discuss the topic of failure. As in their past work, Dalton & Powhida are inspired by negativity, cynicism, doubt, and other forms of oppositional thought that could be seen as a form of resistance. Dalton and Powhida are interested in exploring alternate models of success than those defined by our current superstars: Koons, Hirst & Murakami, and to get people talking about their own definitions of failure and perhaps bring different forms of success - or ways of defining success - to light.
