H ομάδα του TEDx Thessaloniki ανακοινώνει επίσημα το δεύτερο TEDxThessaloniki, με τίτλο Why Not? [Γιατί Όχι;], το οποίο θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Σάββατο 2 Απριλίου 2011 στο Ολύμπιον. Για τις προεγγραφές και την απευθείας φόρμα που συμπληρώνετε για να λαμβάνετε νέα μας μπορείτε να κλικάρετε εδώ:

Στο επίκεντρο του φετινού συνεδρίου βρίσκονται η καινοτομία και γενικότερα οι διαφορετικές ιδέες που ανταποκρίνονται στο γενικότερο κάλεσμα «Γιατί Όχι;». Το TEDxThessaloniki φέρνει την εμπειρία του TED και στην πόλη μας για μια μέρα, με τη συμμετοχή Ελλήνων και ξένων ομιλητών από τους τομείς της Τεχνολογίας, των Επιχειρήσεων, της Δημοσιογραφίας, της Πολιτικής, της Ψυχαγωγίας, της Τέχνης και του Design.
Το TEDx είναι ένα πρόγραμμα τοπικών εκδηλώσεων που διοργανώνονται ανεξάρτητα σε πόλεις όπως τη Νέα Υόρκη, το Σίδνεϋ, το Ντουμπάι, το Λονδίνο, το Άμστερνταμ κ.α. και κάθε φορά προβάλει ιδέες που αξίζει να διαδοθούν. Πρόκειται για μια μη κερδοσκοπική διοργάνωση που οργανώνεται από εθελοντές και διατηρεί τον μη κερδοσκοπικό χαρακτήρα του TED.
Το πρώτο TEDx Thessaloniki πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 9 Μαϊου 2010 στο ιστορικό θέατρο Ολύμπιον στο κέντρο της πόλης και παρουσίασε τέσσερις ομιλητές. Φέτος διευρύναμε τη διοργάνωση περιλαμβάνοντας περισσότερους Έλληνες και ξένους ομιλητές. Κάθε ένας από τους ομιλητές έχει ξεχωρίσει στον τομέα του και όλοι είναι έτοιμος να μοιραστεί μια συναρπαστική Why Not? ιστορία με το κοινό. Ανάμεσα τους έχουμε την χαρά να φιλοξενούμε τον Απρίλιο:
Paul Lewis, Special Projects Editor στον Guardian ανακηρύχθηκε Ρεπόρτερ της Χρονιάς στα Βρετανικά Δημοσιογραφικά Βραβεία 2010 για την επαναστατική χρήση των social media στην δημοσιογραφία.
Rob Thompson, Principal Designer στην Nokia και βραβευμένος product designer, συγγραφέας και πρώην Λέκτορας στο Royal College of Art και στο Central Saint Martins, στο Λονδίνο.
Onic V. Palandjian, Venture Capitalist με 19 χρόνια εμπειρίας σε Ευρώπη και ΗΠΑ, συνιδρυτής της Capital Connect Venture Capital και επενδυτής στην Herco SA & Mavin SA.
Eileen Botsford Velissaropoulos, New Media Public Artist, που εργάζεται σε ένα μεγάλο εύρος από on-site και on-line projects και έχει πραγματοποιήσει εκθέσεις διεθνώς είτε ως μέλος ομάδας καλλιτεχνών είτε μόνη της.

The TEDx Thessaloniki team officially announces the next TEDx Thessaloniki event entitled "Why Not?", which is going to take place on Saturday, April 2nd 2011, at the Olympion Theatre, and focus on innovation and pushing the boundaries.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDx events are organized around the globe in cities such as New York, Sydney, Tokyo, Dubai, London, and Amsterdam. TEDxThessaloniki will bring the TED experience to the city for a day, with local and international inspiring innovators, practitioners and performers across different disciplines, such as Technology, Business, Journalism, Politics, Entertainment, Arts and Design. ΤEDxThessaloniki is a not-for-profit conference organized by a group of volunteers, maintaining the non-profit nature of TED.
The first TEDxThessaloniki took place on May 9th 2010 in the historic Olympion venue in the centre of town and profiled four speakers in a packed auditorium. In April 2011, we will be increasing the size of the conference, with over twelve leading local and international thinkers and practitioners there to share their “Why Not?” captivating stories with the audience. We are proud to present at this time a few of the speakers to pique your interest:
• Paul Lewis, Special Projects Editor at the Guardian and named Reporter of the Year at the British Press Awards 2010 for his revolutionary use of social media in journalism. The award-winning journalist leads a team focusing on new ways of breaking news stories, using multimedia and crowdsourcing.
• Rob Thompson, Principal Designer at Nokia and award-winning product designer, author and former Lecturer at the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins, London.
• Onic V. Palandjian, a seasoned Venture Capitalist with 19 years of professional experience in Europe and the USA, co-founder of Capital Connect Venture Capital fund and founding investor of Herco SA & Mavin SA.
• Eileen Botsford Velissaropoulos, a New Media Public Artist, working on vast spectrum of on-site and on-line projects and commissions, who has exhibited internationally, both in a group and as a solo artist
