Not that we need an excuse to get together but team Gowalla has a pretty amazing one!! We're throwing a fundraiser for our own, Sherry Birk, who is adopting a baby from Ethiopia! The cost of adoption is $25,000 and while Sherry has an amazing job, that's a lot of money for a single person.

Sherry has been an advocate for orphans for many years now and was thrilled recently that she is a mama to a beautiful little three month old girl! She will be traveling in a couple of months to bring her baby girl home. We all feel very fortunate to be part of such a close community here in Austin and we thought this would be an great time to get together for a great cause!

We reached out to our local friends and are grateful that they have thrown in stuff to make this event even more special. We'll be selling Lone Star beers for $2, Tito's is picking up the first 50 drinks (so come early!) and One Taco is giving away 100 free tacos at 6:30pm!

We'll be collecting a suggested donation of $5 per person at the door. We'll also have a table where we'll be selling some awesome stuff for discounted prices from our friends at local businesses (we've got items from Texas Running Company, Birds Barbershop, Milk + Honey Spa, Public School, Sugar Mama's Bakeshop and more!)
