Taking Note
In this exhibition of new work, celebrated Vancouver painter Katherine Surridge suggests that by slowing down and observing – “Taking Note” of the world in a contemplative and deliberate way – the viewer can be inspired by the simple elements in our surroundings. With a multitude of interpretations and subtleties Surridge’s paintings display reoccurring images such as letters, script and forms that emerge and disappear creating movement and energy which over time reveal themselves to the viewer.
Taking Note runs through April 29th and includes workshops and artist talks which will incorporate Surridge’s significant accomplishments in the field of filmmaking.
