At SXSW on March 14th, CloudU curator Ben Kepes will host a live webcast titled "Understanding the Cloud Computing Stack: SaaS, PaaS and IaaS". You don't have to be at SXSW to participate! Cloud Computing is a broad term that describes a broad range of services. In order to truly understand how the Cloud can be of value to an organization, it is first important to understand what the Cloud really is and its different components. In this live webcast, a panel of industry experts will explain the different types of Cloud Computing services commonly referred to as Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

Ben Kepes, CloudU Currator
Ben is the driving force behind CloudU, a year-long educational program aiming to create broad knowledge around cloud computing. In his spare time, Ben is the founder and managing director of Diversity Limited, a consultancy specializing in cloud computing/SaaS, collaboration, business strategy and user-centric design.
Alex Polvi, Cloudkick Founder and Rackspace Director of Bay Area Operations
Alex lead Cloudkick, a Y-Combinator funded start-up, as its CEO and co-founder to the successful acquisition by Rackspace. Now with Rackspace he is responsible for Cloudkick product development and the build out of Rackspace's Bay Area operations. Previously, he has worked on many infrastructure projects for the Mozilla Foundation, Google, and the Oregon State Open Source Lab. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Oregon State University.
Dave Nielsen, co-founder of CloudCamp
Dave managed the PayPal Developer Network through 2006. After PayPal, Dave helped companies marketing their Web Services & Developer Tools to developers. With the emergence of Cloud Computing, Dave saw a real need to educate developers, entrepreneurs, IT professionals, and corporate executives about the opportunities and challenges provided by Cloud Computing. Dave co-founded CloudCamp to address this need. Since the first CloudCamp SF in 2008, Dave has helped organize 175 CloudCamps reaching more than 20,000 attendees all over the world.
