About The Road:
In the summer of 2006, four friends from California set out on a mission to expose through film, the atrocities suffered by the Karen people of Burma (one of the largest ethnic groups), at the hands of the country's military dictatorship. Burma has quietly been host to the world’s longest running civil war - waged between the country’s military leadership and detractors from the regime.
With backpacks filled with borrowed camera equipment, they set out to break into a closed country filled with landmines and Burmese soldiers. They didn’t know how they were going to get in. They didn’t know if they would return. And they didn’t know if anyone would listen to their story if they did.
